The Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University invites applications for a non-tenure-track instructor of accounting and taxation position for fall 2018. Required professional experience and teaching interests are in taxation (preferably international tax and federal tax) and financial accounting. We prefer candidates with a minimum of 8-10 years’ professional working experience in public accounting and/or private industry. Candidate must be willing to engage in course design and management, curriculum review, and new course validation processes. Candidate must also be willing to run Suffolk’s Free Tax Preparation Center. Candidate must be able to teach evenings, weekends, and online as necessary. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching, mentoring/advising, and service. Professional licensure (CPA or CMA) is required and Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Analytics, or Business Administration from an accredited institution is preferred.
The Sawyer Business School is accredited by AACSB-International and its Department of Accounting and Taxation has supplemental accreditation. Among the programs offered and supported by the Accounting Department are the BSBA with an accounting major, the MSA, the MST, 4 + 1 BSBA/MSA and BSBA/MST programs, and the MBA with an accounting concentration.
