    Elected in 2016 and reelected in 2018 and 2020 (three terms). Served ~ 95,000 constituents: • Chairman of the Committee on Commerce (two terms), supervised and managed ~10 legislative and committee staff, drafting attorneys, and one of three Members to serve on both the Appropriations Committee and policy committees. • Successfully lobbied the Governor to expand healthcare through telehealth platforms during the COVID-19 Pandemic. • Led economic incentive projects in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to strategically align policymakers resulting in record-breaking investments from 2020 to 2022. • Authored over 20 Public Acts including legislation to modernize state procurement, regulate cryptocurrency, rewrite campaign finance and election laws, bolster economic development incentives, and promote telehealth delivery models. • Negotiated and secured a $5-billion investment for the second-largest collocated data center in the US; named Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Economic Developers' Association in 2020. • Chief advocate for small-business acceleration package to aid with state grants, entrepreneurial growth, and procurement; awarded the Legislator of the Year Award by the Small Business Association of Michigan in 2021. • Championed ~ $30 million in new funding to retain the Pure Michigan tourism marketing campaign to enhance out-of-state tourism and bolster economic diversity with a positive ROI of $4.10 per $1 spent. • Primary and secondary sponsor of over 100 bipartisan bills signed into law by two governors.

Fun Fact

As the first in my family to go to college, I graduated with three degrees and 202 credits while serving as student body president, president of my fraternity, playing varsity lacrosse, and working part-time to pay for school.
