I started an internship at AutoCam Technology in my senior year, where I worked closely with multiple departments on several projects. Autocam is one of the fast-growing companies; they have the best design of Taiwan machine components. I joined a team in proposing a transformation plan; we connected various production equipment machines, allowing people to monitor the machine's status in real-time. One of the projects that I managed was the "AI Supply Chain Integration Plan," which led me to pursue my graduate study in data science. This AI project has three goals. First, it is to integrate the component's supply chain with AI scheduling; Second, it is about establishing a supply chain quality system. We measure the components with a touch probe (BLUM) and the current value data for cross-comparison analysis. Thirdly, we build up the tool AI diagnosis and prediction. I measure and collect data from the tool setter gauge, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and current sensor to determine whether the wear curve conforms to the tool theory. We use Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM) as a regression model to predict future tool length and diameter changes. As a result, I found myself fascinated by such frontline complexity. I feel highly motivated to achieve more goals and study data science and analytics.
