overview
- Create, lead and coordinate internal and external digital communications activities for up to 12 of CDC Foundation's global and domestic public health programs, including data modernization, AIAN maternal/child health, opioid overdose response, tobacco reporting, cardiovascular health, health equity and more
- Research, write, design and edit creative, culturally sensitive written and visual communication products for identified target audiences in the form of social media posts, success stories, white papers, reports, press releases, blogs, toolkits, presentations, videos and other digital assets
- Strategize and produce detailed communications plans and metric results, analyze and refine based on response
- Direct the work of contractors and designers to generate high-quality, impactful visual content
- Develop social media strategy, improve metrics. Recent successes: August 2024 organic post scored highest impression and engagement numbers of the past four years
- Collaborate with CDC program officers, SMEs, and others to translate complex health and data modernization information into plain language
- Partner with organizations including NORC, NAACHO, APHA, RWJF, TFAH on campaign development and dissemination
- Provide technical assistance to Foundation staff, as well as overseeing communications specialists assigned to specific Foundation programs
- Provide expertise and advice on media relations, write press releases, monitor press mentions
- Review and coordinate clearance of abstracts, presentations and other material to funding agencies, stakeholders, journals and conferences
